    • Who is MWM?
  • FHS
Matt Moore was a scholar, athlete, brother, friend, and thespian.  His death in a car accident along with that of his friend Seth Adams, during spring of their senior year in 1991, left FHS in mourning.  Soon afterward, his family established the Matthew William Moore Scholarship, which was awarded yearly to an FHS senior who best embodied the spirit of Matt.

In 2012, his father Rudy Moore, long-time friend of Fayetteville Public Schools, decided to roll the scholarship endowment into the support of the new FHS Library, then under construction.  In gratitude of his generous gift, the FHS Library is now officially known as the Matthew William Moore Library.

Matthew William Moore is survived by his brother, Jason Moore.
